Last reviewed: 2 July 2026

The short version. yourkids.com is a place to read about parenting. You don't need an account, we don't track you around the web, and we collect as little information as we possibly can. When that changes — because you've signed up for our email, say — we'll tell you plainly and only ever ask for what we actually need.

1. Who we are

This site is run by Mark Trudinger ("we", "us"). If you have any questions about your privacy, or you'd like to make a request about your information, email us at mark@clouddev.group.

We're the "data controller" for the small amount of information described below, under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and, for readers in the EU/EEA, the EU GDPR.

2. When you simply read the site

You can read everything here without giving us any information at all. We don't ask you to register, we don't run advertising, and we don't place analytics or tracking cookies on your device.

Our site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers automatically process technical information needed to deliver the pages to you — such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request — and may keep short-lived logs for security and reliability. We don't use this information to identify you, and we don't combine it with anything else. You can read Vercel's own privacy notice at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

3. Cookies

We don't set any cookies of our own for tracking or advertising. The only cookies you might encounter come from third parties when you choose to interact with them — for example, if you click an affiliate link (see below). If we ever add analytics, we'll use a privacy-respecting tool and update this page first.

3a. Tools that remember things on your device

Some of our tools — like the Baby and Toddler guides and the app — can remember a first name, a date of birth and your feeding preference so they open at the right page next time. That information is stored only in your browser on your own device (using "local storage", not cookies). It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and you can remove it at any time in the app's settings or by clearing your browser's site data.

The app offers an optional "Sign in with Google" purely to greet you by name. The sign-in happens between your browser and Google — your name and photo are shown on your device only and never sent to us. Google processes that sign-in under its own privacy policy, and skipping it changes nothing about how the app works.

4. Affiliate links

Some pages — mainly our Recommended and Deals sections — may contain affiliate links to shops such as Amazon. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. We label this clearly wherever it applies, and it never changes what we choose to recommend.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site and the retailer (for example, Amazon) may set its own cookies and process your information under its privacy policy, not ours. We'd encourage you to read the privacy notice of any shop you buy from.

5. Our weekly email

Our weekly digest isn't live yet. When it launches, signing up will be entirely optional, and we'll only ask for your email address so we can send you the email you asked for. We'll explain exactly how it works — including how to unsubscribe in one click — at the point you sign up, and we'll update this page to name the email provider we use. We will never sell your email address or use it for anything other than the digest you opted into.

6. Children's privacy

yourkids.com is written for parents and carers — grown-ups — not for children. We don't knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Readers around the world

We have UK roots and write for an international audience. Wherever you're reading from, we apply the same principle: collect as little as possible and be honest about it. Because our host and any third-party services may operate internationally, information necessarily processed to deliver the site (such as the technical data in section 2) may be handled on servers outside your own country, with appropriate safeguards in place.

8. Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights over your personal information, including the right to ask us for a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how it's used. Since we hold almost nothing about you, there's usually very little for us to act on — but if you'd like to make a request, email mark@clouddev.group and we'll respond within the timeframes the law requires (normally one month).

9. Keeping information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. Technical hosting logs are short-lived. If you join our email list in future, we'll keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

As the site grows — for example when the email digest or any analytics go live — we'll update this page and change the "last reviewed" date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly.

11. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); readers in the EU/EEA can contact their national data protection authority.

12. Contact

Questions about anything on this page? Email mark@clouddev.group — a real person will read it.
